Mariagiulia Serantoni is an artist, performer, and choreographer whose interdisciplinary practice investigates the reciprocal entanglement of sound and corporeality. Through sustained exploration of sonic structures and embodied presence, her work generates imaginary bodily perspectives—worlds created by and for the body—in search of alternative ways of existing in the world and with others.Serantoni earned a Master’s in Choreography and Research from the Master Exerce program at ICI – CCN Montpellier (2022) and graduated from the Civica Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi, Milan, Contemporary Dance Program (2009). Her recent solo, AGiTA, premiered in Berlin in co-production with Tanzfabrik Berlin Bühne (2025) and in Italy at Kilowatt Festival, Sansepolcro (2025). She was selected for a two-month residency at Circuit-Est, Montréal (2025), supported by Goethe-Institut Montréal and Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec.Her authorial works — Eutropia, Underground Memoirs, Diagonals and Other Love Stories, and DIA-rhythmic Fantasies — have been presented at festivals including MilanOltre, La Democrazia del Corpo, Sydney Fringe Festival, and Romaeuropa (Vivo d'Arte). Eutropia was nominated for the Premio Equilibrio (2018), and Underground Memoirs won the Vivo d’Arte Award (2019).Serantoni collaborates with MICCE on projects including Metis (Danza Urbana 2023, PERFORM EUROPE 2024), OLTRE(il)CANONE, and KIT / Spazi di Futuro. Based in Berlin since 2014, she has also collaborated with Laborgras, Jule Flierl, Rita Mazza, Bottom Up Productions and Isabela Fernandes Santana (Tanztage 2026).She has received grants including Tanzpraxis (2022, Berlin Senate), Movin’Up (GAI, Italy), and Einstiegsförderung (Berlin Senate, 2018), and co-founded the Milan-based company Fattoria Vittadini (2009).
